Meet the Creators
Founders Chelsea and Lochlan are here to shake things up — because let's face it, singers deserve more than 20th-century advice in a 21st-century opera world. The current opera industry is evolving rapidly; however, singers are often still receiving misinformation, problematic treatment, and career advice from those who made their names in another epoch. Voice teachers, conductors, stage directors and casting agents don’t always see eye-to-eye. Or sometimes their well-meaning, useful feedback just gets lost in translation. Chelsea and Lochlan’s teaching duo was born of a shared passion to improve the communication between the departments of opera-making, but also, of an immense respect for and understanding of the centuries-old traditions of great vocalism and style that have stood the test of time.

Their mission is to give singers the tools they need to thrive rather than just survive the artistic challenges thrown at them from every direction of the complicated operatic mechanism.

Together, Chelsea and Lochlan bring a combination of expertise in pedagogy and psychology, in addition to their performing careers. They’ve worked at some of the world’s top educational institutions including Mannes, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Florida Grand Opera YAP, Rice University and numerous Italian festivals, as well as performed in opera houses all over the world, including the Dutch National Opera, the Rome Opera, New York City Opera, Lithuanian National Opera, West Australian Opera and Palm Beach Opera.

Don’t just take our word for it, “The proof is in the pudding!”
Guest Faculty
We think it's rare to find artists who can teach the job as well as they do the job. We've spent years building a team of inspirational and compassionate educators who have their finger on the pulse of the opera world and the needs of the industry today.
